I'm an Australian artist based in Margaret River, Western Australia best known for my aerial landscape paintings inspired by the colours of the Southwest Region capturing the patterns and colours in the landscape. I have enjoyed art ever since I can remember, giving drawings away as a gift to family and friends was something I have done from a young age. I have studied fine arts on and off throughout my life, but I am mainly self-taught. Since moving to Margaret River in 2010 I have taken the time to harness my skills. My artwork focuses on the natural elements of the Margaret River region, from the towering karri trees to the rolling waves of the Indian Ocean. I love going to the beach and exploring places with my family. Walking on the ancient rocks that have evolved over millions of years and having a connection with the land gives me a sense of belonging. Transferring those observations onto the canvas is a fascination for me. Watching the materials dance on the surface and allowing them to meld and yield the unexpected. It's the cathartic process of both reflection and contemplation that I am connecting with.
